Case study

Sodexo Student Living

Student Living by Sodexo aims to offer students the opportunity to live in a modern and affordable environment, as well as supporting investors and developers entering the private student accommodation sector.

The Background

Student Living by Sodexo has steadily built its portfolio of the number of student beds it manages in the UK and in December 2016, they announced their appointment by Kier, the leading property and construction group, to oversee the booking and management of Oxford House, Keir’s first direct let property in Newcastle.

The Brief

In response to this new partnership, Student Living requested:

  • a centralised, fully content managed website to promote their property portfolio
  • website to be fully responsive, easy to use and target a young audience in their 20's
  • facilitate the set up of multiple properties and locations
  • facilitate each property’s individual branding (i.e. logos, fonts, colours) and content
  • include multiple photo galleries to showcase both property and its room types
  • feature eye-catching video banners
  • integrate online room booking and payments
  • arrange a viewing online
  • allow students to add rooms to favourites

The Solution

We tailored our content management system, AbsolutelyInteractive, to incorporate a new ‘Brands’ area. This allows Student Living to manage a property's branding on the Student Living website. As well as uploading the property’s logo, the team are able to customise colours and fonts to suit the property’s brand - giving each property its own look and feel.

We have also integrated the Occam portal to facilitate room availability, viewings and booking; integration with Global Payments 'Pay Page 2.0' facilitates secure online bookings. Simple filters allow the student to easily find a room that suits their budget and needs; TripAdvisor offers inboard ratings and integrated Google Maps allows the Student Living team to highlight local points of interest.

The site is fully responsive and designed to suit a young target audience, offering FAQ’s, eye-catching video banners, colour coding, photo galleries and the option to ‘add to favourites'.
