The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) aims to provide all EU citizens with improved rights and control of their personal data.
Our AbsolutelyInteractive CMS is fully GDPR-ready and we've included tools to ensure that you are too.
You must identify and document the lawful basis for processing personal data (formerly known as the "conditions for processing"). You must have a purpose for collecting specific data and be able to prove the reason for obtaining these data.
Consent can no longer be inferred or ambiguous, instead it must now be confirmed by your user by way of affirmative action. This must be expressed openly, in language that is easy-to-understand and specific to the data being requested. Under the GDPR, users can (and have the right to) consent to one action and refuse it for another. You must document and be able to prove how consent was provided by the individual.
Under the GDPR, everyone has the right to the protection of their personal data. This includes, but is not limited to, the right to be informed, to have access, to rectification, to be forgotten, to restrict processing, to portability, to object and to automated decision making/profiling.
